సినిమా: The Voyeurs దేశం: ఇండీయా దర్శకుడు: బుధ్ధదేవ్ దాస్ గుప్త. నా అభిప్రాయం: బుధ్ధదేవ్ దాస్ గుప్తా సినిమాల గురించి వినడమే కానీ ఎప్పుడు చూసే అవకాశం రాలేదు. కానీ ఆయన గెలిచినన్ని అంతర్జాతీయ అవార్డులు మరే ఇండియన్ దర్శకునికీ రాలేదేమో. ఆ విషయమే ఈ సినిమా గురించి నా అంచనాలు ఎక్కువయ్యేలా చేసాయి. సినిమా కథ వరకూ అధ్భుతంగా వుంది. Its very very contemporary. కానీ ఆ idea ని execute చెయ్యడంలో మాత్రం ఎక్కడో పెద్ద తప్పే జరిగినట్టుంది. సరైన నటులు లేక పోవడం ఈ సినిమాకి పెద్ద డ్రాబ్యాక్ అనుకుంటా. మీకు రెండేళ్ళ క్రితం లండన్ లో జరిగిన బాంబు పేలుడు, ఆ తర్వాత జరిగిన కొన్ని సంఘటనలు గుర్తుండే వుంటాయి. ఆ సంఘటనల ఆధారంగానే ఈ సినిమా రూపొందించబడింది. కానీ ఆ సంఘటనలను లండన్లో జరిగినట్టు కాకుండా కలకత్తాలో జరిగినట్టుగా ఈ సినిమా వుంటుంది. కలకత్తాలో Surveillance కెమెరాలు అమర్చే పని చేసే దిలీప్ కి బరంపూర్ నుంచి కలకత్త వచ్చిన యాసిన్ జతకడతాడు. వీళ్ళుండే ఇంటికి ఎదురింట్లో రేఖ అనే అందమైన అమ్మాయి చేరుతుంది.Hidden కెమెరాలు అమర్చడంలో ఆరితేరిన వీళ్ళు ఎదురింట్లో అందమైన అమ్మాయిని వదుల్తారా? రహస్యంగా hidden కెమెరా ఆమె ఇంట్లో ఏర్పాటు చేసి రాత్రుళ్ళు ఆమెనే చుస్తూ గడిపేస్తుంటారు. కానీ వారు చేసిన అ చిలిపి పని చివరికి ఎంతటి ప్రమాదకరమైన పరిస్థుతులకి దారి తీస్తుందో సినిమా చూస్తే మీకే తెలుస్తుంది. కథా పరంగా అధ్భుతమైన్ కథ ఎన్నుకున్నప్పటికీ ఎక్కడో ఏదో మిస్సయినట్టు లోపం కొట్టొచ్చినట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది. అయినా కూడా చూడదగ్గ సినిమా. Synopsis:When a young man falls in love, he cannot imagine that his innocence will turn to guilt and lead to him and his friend being chased by the police. Nor can his friend imagine that his religion is a death warrant. Neither can understand how a peccadillo involving the girl next door could become the equal of a crime of passion. Director’s Statement: Our world has become obsessed with security, and ordinary human values such as love and kindness have been mechanized and are reinterpreted as dangers by the masters of our advanced technology. But do the web-cams and CCTV that are constant witnesses to our lives make us any less vulnerable to terrorists than we are to ourselves? Are police and security forces really our protectors? These are the central issues of this seemingly light-hearted film.
