నిన్న చూసిన కళాఖండాలలో Agata S Hamilton చిత్రించిన చాయాచిత్రాలు, వర్ణచిత్రాలు నాకు నచ్చిన వాటిలో కొన్ని. ఆమె చిత్రాల గురించి ఆవిడ ఇలా చెప్తుంది, “I deal with existential emotions and states of mind. My work is about human drama and human dilemma. It speaks of anxiety, emotional chaos and fear. It is about the tortured psychological state and isolation, hence, much of work bears the suggestion of afflicted beauty. The figures are almost invisible, only small parts revealed, suggesting vulnerability and ambiguity of the fragmented vision. The photographed body dominates the space of an uncanny dimension, which seems rather vague. It alludes to the sociological space. The figures in my work seem to be screaming with despair, although they are mute. In some works the images seem to surrender, and become powerless and apathetic. As if they have been deprived of the energy for life; their limbs seemingly cold. There is the suggestion of the end, a void.”

చూడగానే ఈ చిత్రాల్లో చెప్పనలివిగాని విషాదం ఉందని అర్థమైనప్పటికీ ఆమె చెప్పిన మాటలతో ఆ చిత్రాలలో దాగిఉన్న బాధావేశాలన్నీ నా కళ్ళముందు సాక్షాత్కరించాయి.Sartre, Camus లాంటి మహానుభావులెందరో అస్థిత్వవాదాన్ని తమ రచనల ద్వారా వెళ్ళబుచ్చ్చితే Agata తన చిత్రాల ద్వారా అస్థిత్వవాదపు భావోద్వేగాన్ని వ్యక్తపరచడం ప్రశంసార్హం.

నా దృష్టిలో అస్థిత్వవాదపు భావోద్వేగాన్ని (Existential emotions) ని చిత్రాల ద్వారా వ్యక్తపరిచిన మరో గొప్ప వ్యక్తి Edvard Munch. ఈయన చిత్రించిన Scream అన్న కళాఖండం ప్రపంచవ్యప్తంగా ప్రసిధ్ధి చెందింది. Agata చిత్రాలపై Edvard Munch ప్రభావమేమిటో అడిగి తెలుసుకునుంటే బావుందేదని నాకు ఈ post రాస్తుంటే అనిపించింది.
